Copy-trading risks nobody mentions

Front-running by the caller, exit liquidity, survivorship in leaderboards, and the operational risks of auto-copy bots.

Copy-trading feels passive. The risks are not.

You are the exit liquidity

A caller with a large following who buys before posting can sell into the buying that the post creates. The faster followers buy, the better the caller's exit. Measured from the call price, the trade can look like a win for everyone except late followers.

Survivorship

Leaderboards show callers who are still posting. Callers who blew up their followers often stop or rebrand. A short window with few measured calls flatters luck; our leaderboard requires a minimum number of measured calls and shows the count next to every number.

Bot and key risk

Auto-copy bots hold keys and trade without asking. Use a dedicated wallet with a fixed budget, check you are using the real bot by taking its username from the project's own website, and set per-trade limits.

Backtests are not forecasts

The backtester uses the real peak and the real current multiple for each measured call, but it cannot know whether you would have been filled at the call price. Treat results as an upper bound on what a fast follower could have achieved.
